Empowering Faith with Solar Energy in Sri Lanka
In response to the escalating electricity cost crisis faced by religious entities and places of worship in Sri Lanka, Holy Solar Ceylon is thrilled to announce the launch of a groundbreaking crowdfunding project to advance rooftop solar in Sri Lanka. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden of soaring electricity bills for religious institutions by harnessing the power of solar energy.
The Holy Solar Solution seeks to address this crisis by leveraging Sri Lanka's abundant solar energy resources to generate clean and affordable electricity. Through the installation of solar panels on the roofs of selected religious buildings, connected to the national grid under the net metering system proposed by the Ceylon Electricity Board, the project aims to reduce electricity bills by 80% or more for religious and social service entities, increase the share of renewable energy in the national electricity mix by 5% or more, decrease greenhouse gas emissions and the environmental impacts of electricity generation by 10% or more, and enhance social solidarity and generosity by involving the public in a noble cause. This project aims to promote awareness and encourage the adoption of solar energy among the public and other sectors.
